Independence Hall, which is part of Independence National Historic Park, is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. Flag design in 1777 and the Articles of Confederation approval in 1781. Other important events that happened in this building were the appointment of George Washington to head the Continental Army in 1775, adoption of the U.S. Independence Hall was finished in 1753 using a design by Andrew Hamilton and Edmund Woolley under the orders of the Pennsylvania Colonial Legislature. Independence Hallīoth the United States Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed at this historically significant Philadelphia structure that once had the famed Liberty Bell in its Bell Tower. The Liberty Bell Center features multimedia presentations and exhibits on the history of the Liberty Bell.
#One liberty observation deck cracked#
It was cracked when it first arrived in Philadelphia. The mostly copper Liberty Bell was made in 1752 by British firm White Chapel Foundry with the the Bible verse "Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the Land unto all the inhabitants thereof" engraved on it. This legendary symbol of freedom in the United States containing a distinctive crack is on display protected by a glass case in the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
