Before shrouded isles pve was just that thing you did so you could get to emain and surive. Now while many will look back fondly at daoc as having a great balance of both I say - you need to remove the rose colored glasses. There are pvp focused mmorpgs out there that do better with that game system and are far more proactive than any mixed pve/pvp game will ever do. PvP is not the main focus of games like this and will always take a back seat to pve issues.
